Indian Civet; Though catlike in appearance, civets are not felines, they belong to the suborder of carnivore known as Feliformia. Civets are native to tropical Asia and Africa. The Small Indian Civet is found throughout South and Southeast Asia and, due to it’s widespread geographical distribution, widespread habitat use and healthy populations living in agricultural and secondary landscapes, their numbers in the wild are so plentiful that they are listed on IUCN Conservation Status List as Least Concern.
